To participate please read all the information below. Pick your preferred date and time on the calendar below and follow instructions.
You will be asked for the following things:
What is the donation for? Well to give you an idea, a shoot like this with me is generally priced at $700. Your contribution helps to pay for the printing cost of your image to be exhibited all over the US and internationally, I am not getting paid for my time! And this donation is not applied towards the travel expenses.
Schedule will be active and updated as we lock down dates for each city we are currently crowdfunding for. Stay tuned.
Yes, you must complete a model release form and submit when you schedule your appointment. If you do not have access to a scanner you may take a picture of it and submit that.
In 2012 I began photographing for this project. It is important that we saturate the media with images like this. Images of us. Masculinity is defined by each individual and not anyone else.
Currently all photoshoots are done outdoors in different locations and cities.
Yes, as long as you always credit and/or link back to the project at all times. Logo on the images shall never be removed. PLEASE NOTE: These images are intended for the use of the project only, we ask that you respect the project and limit the use of the images, it is an absolute that if you are considering to submit these for any fliers or printing materials that you obtain written consent from the photographer (a very small fee may apply) if you do not follow this step, you will be asked to compensate the project for the improper use of images which are protected by copyright laws. If you are interested in purchasing a use license for the selected images just contact the photographer.
The photographer reserves all rights to all the images and you may only use them as agreed upon the model release.
***PLEASE RESPECT THE ARTIST AND THE NATURE OF THE PROJECT***
Bring a nice outfit. My goal is to promote a more dressy, dapper look in these images so please consider that when planning out your outfit. Wear something you feel great in, something you love.
Yes. I personally funded the project for the first few years until I could not do it anymore. I am a full time photographer and survive from all my gigs booked outside of the project, time away from my business affects my income in a great way. By donating, your money helps with all cost associated with traveling, exhibiting, marketing and part of the cost of printing your image on a 24x36 scale to show in the US and internationally.
I tend to stay at least 5 days per city.
10-12 people per day is the goal.
Everyone interested in the project submits their interest along with a small paragraph about themselves and an image and I invite people to be photographed. My goal is to reflect diversity and am actively seeking participants who are of all ethnicities and age groups.
Sessions are typically 30 minutes when we are traveling. You bring the signed release form and we talk about the purpose of the project. Then, we make beautiful images. Please show up at least 15 minutes early.
Best 8-10 images from the session are selected by me and posted onto our website and social media outlets.
No, unfortunately this create huge complications and delays. I review all the images from the session, select all images that meet project standards and I edit those to share on our website.
Possibly. Sorting, selecting and editing the images is a very long process and my focus is to give everyone an equal chance to see their images. So, more images could be available in the future.
Usually a few days after the shoots I post a sneak peek of each person photographed.
My goal is to go national with my project. I would like to travel the country capturing as many faces as I can with the end goal being to compile them all into a book and a show. Currently I have set up a donation link to help fund travel to different cities, if you'd like to help you may donate below.
Sessions are open for Benicia, CA everyday after 3:30pm until 7pm. Each session are 1 hr long. Must arrive on time.
