Masculinity is a fluid natural part of how I express myself. It is funny that all online definitions of masculinity start with "a set of attributes associated with men." I feel that is the farthest thing from the truth. It also perpetuates this myth that a masculine identified woman is simply "trying to be a man." However these qualities are who I am. Not who I was taught to be because I was taught to be a lady. I am happy that I was able to find the space to embrace my masculinity. It is not limited to things like dominance and aggressive, it is also a very special type of care-giving and nurturer. It is compassion. It is being fierce in your authenticity. It is sleek, it is dapper, it is cool.
